acupuncture for pain

The allergy season is around the corner, with pollen spread and blooming plants. The seasonal allergy, commonly called hay fever or allergic rhinitis or even allergic conjunctivitis, are due to hypersensitivity to the foreign stuff such as pollen, dust mite, animals, mold etc. Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has been treating allergy for many decades with effective results.

While there are various western medication to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies, these treatment may cause unpleasant side effects such as drowsiness and over-dependent on medications. To avoid the side effects and get the underlying cause treated, patients are looking for alternative approaches such as acupuncture treatment and oriental medicine, aromatic therapy. Patients who failed west medication and shots often respond to acupuncture.

How acupuncture and oriental medicine works for allergy

Oriental medicine consider allergy and asthma is a manifestation of Qi deficiency and certain organ imbalance. The acupuncture treatment and oriental medicine is focus on the underlying cause by tonifying the inner organ system and strengthening the immunity system, hence working effectively clearing the nasal blockage and related symptom.

An extensive consultation and a treatment plan is provided based on patients' acute or chronic allergy condition. Patient response is generally quick. Often patients get some relief during the first visit while lying on the acupuncture table. Patients can determine the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment by scoring the nose stuffiness or eye itchiness from zero to ten before and after the treatment. After an initial series of treatment, patient can also determine the effectiveness of treatment by tracking the number of sneezes per day and the number of stuffiness or itchiness episodes per day. Throughout the treatment plan, most patients become less depend or even no dependent on western medications.

After an initial series of treatments, patients come in for further treatments on an as needed basis. Some patients come back in once a quarter for a booster while others may come more often. Once-a-quarter seasonal acupuncture treatments, which are just four times a year, serve to tonify the inner organ systems and can correct minor annoyances before serious problem arises. If you experience seasonal allergies, call us today to make an appointment.

Herb and Diet guidance for allergy

A diet guidance and nutrition tips are provided for the patients through the treatment plan. A procedure may be also guided to identify the unknown allergen. A patented or customized herb formula may be included in the treatment plan. Generally speaking, patients get more effective long lasting response if they avoid sugar and milk in their diets.

An "allergy fighting" diet would be good to include ginger (with skin on), fiber, omega-3, yogurt, carrot, pumkin, spinach, kale, apple(with skin on). A simple daily routine can be done by adding ginger essential oil into your water and drink throughout the day.
